New Belt System for Ferris, Snapper Pro Decks

New mower deck drive system features a seamless, wider ductile iron backside belt tensioner with a double ball bearing system, which creates a smoother running tensioner system.

A new mower deck drive system on Ferris and Snapper Pro commercial zero-turn mowers is designed for longer belt life, reduced maintenance and improved performance. In addition to helping commercial landscapers improve their productivity by reducing downtime, the new system offers a three-year, 300-hour limited warranty.

The new mower deck drive system is standard on all iCD Cutting Systems featuring 52”, 61” and 72” mower decks. Ferris models using this system include the IS 3200Z, IS 2100Z, F320 and F210 zero turn mowers. The Snapper Pro line will have the new system on all S200xt models.

This new mower deck drive system features a seamless, wider ductile iron backside belt tensioner with a double ball bearing system, which creates a smoother-running tensioner system. There are three fewer backside belt idlers on the belt tension side. The result is less belt stress and cooler-running belts. Deeper groove spindle drive pulleys mean smoother engagement. The belt is less likely to dislodge from the pulley, less likely to roll, and there is less stress on the belt cords. These features translate into longer belt life, reduced maintenance and less downtime.

“The new mower deck drive system is part of our commitment to continuous product improvement for our customers,” says Phil Wenzel, vice president of commercial products, Turf & Consumer Group. “By providing improvements that reduce maintenance and downtime, we keep them more productive and profitable.”
