As reported by WHIO in Ohio, a Dayton landscaping business has suffered damage after fire broke out in a garage the morning of August 31. Most equipment has been salvaged.
The company was BrightView, the industry’s largest company with annual revenue of roughly $2 billion and more than 22,000 employees. BrightView is the result of the merger between Brickman and ValleyCrest in 2014.
Cleveland.com later reported that the cause of fire was likely an overheated mower.
REMINDER: Always allows mowers and other equipment to cool down before storing it. Also, ensure that no flammable materials are in the vicinity of said equipment, and clean off all grass clippings and debris before storing it. A leaf blower should do the trick.
