Albers, IL-based Home Nursery Inc., a family-owned grower of nursery stock and supplier to garden centers, landscapers and distribution centers, recently announced that its president, Chuck Tosovsky, was inducted into the American Nursery and Landscape Association’s (ANLA) Hall of Fame.
According to ANLA’s website, this award is the most important honor this industry can bestow upon one of its members. The award was conceived to recognize truly outstanding nursery businessmen and women whose acts and deeds in business, home, community and country serve as a guide and challenge for all other members of the industry.
Tosovsky’s induction to the ANLA Hall of Fame is testimony to his commitment to his business, family, community and to the Green Industry. Throughout his career, he has dedicated his time, energy and talents to not only his family and his company, but to associations such as ANLA. He was American Association of Nurserymen’s (now ANLA) lieutenant governor for Illinois from 1982-1986 and governor for Illinois from 1986-1990. He was president of the Illinois Nurseryman’s Association (now the Illinois Green Industry Association.) He has also been involved with many local organizations and associations such as the president of the Edwardsville Rotary Club and president of the Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville Foundation.
“I am truly honored to be inducted into ANLA’s Hall of Fame,” said Tosovsky. “I have been involved with the association for over 50 years and I am grateful for what they have done for the industry, specifically education, leadership and sustainability. I am privileged to be a part of this leading organization.”
Home Nursery was founded in 1921 by Tosovsky’s father, Ernest Tosovsky. Ninety years later, the Tosovsky family still owns and manages the Nursery. The company has risen from setbacks, each time stronger and more united. Each phase of growth reinforces its commitment to its history, its employees, its high quality products and its future.
