Bobcat R2-Series E42 and E50 Compact Excavators

Bobcat Company has enhanced its compact excavators with the new R2-Series compact excavators. The R2-Series combines the digging power of a larger machine with a compact frame that can fit into compact jobsites. These excavators have been redesigned to deliver enhanced performance, control and efficiency.

The first R2-Series excavators to launch will include the Bobcat E42 and E50 compact excavators. The 9,830-lb. E42 conventional tailswing and 11,357-lb. E50 minimal tailswing compact excavators include enhanced performance and comfort features, as well as greater machine uptime protection. 

• 42- and 49-hp Bobcat D18 diesel engines do not require a DPF and offer improved cold weather operation
• 10.4- and 11.4-ft. maximum dig depths
• Dual-flange track roller system extends the undercarriage structure closer to the track’s edge for added stability
• Integrated counterweight increases lift-over-side capacity and improves over-the-side digging performance and slewing ability
• Joysticks provide quick, precise movement with low effort and are now equipped with fingertip boom swing control
• Hydraulic control valve offers improved metering, finite movement and controllability for level grading plus fast cycle times
• Cooling system with side-by-side heat exchangers more efficiently controls engine compartment temperature
• Other features include a 7-in. touchscreen display panel, composite tailgate with steel interior, more glass surface area for the side and top windows, narrower side pillars, automatic heat and air conditioning system and heated seat
